During the summer I fell in love with the Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso drink at Starbucks. It was my go to during the warmer months. Now that we are in the thick of the coldest part of the year, I needed to get my brown sugar fix but I wanted it to be hot. So, I found an easy recipe and whipped up a brown sugar syrup and I absolutely love it! It tastes just like the Starbucks version but hot.
Recipe…
- 4 tablespoons of packed brown sugar
- 1/2 tablespoon of ground cinnamon
- 6 tablespoons of water
- 1 tablespoon extract

I just put all of the ingredients into a sauce pan and bring it to a boil while continuously stirring. I then add about a tablespoon and a half of the mixture into my coffee cup. In the cup I add a double shot of espresso and about 3/4 cup of steamed milk. This is the perfect cold weather treat. Enjoy!
