I swear by sleeping on a silk pillowcase and I have for the last 5 years. Not only does the experience feel completely luxurious but silk pillowcases have also been shown to benefit both the hair and skin. I have done a little research on some of the benefits of silk pillowcases in hopes to potentially sway you to the more comfortable side.
Silk pillowcases are known for keeping bed head at bay. As someone with medium length, fine, and easily tangly hair, I have found that silk pillowcases help me tremendously in this department. When I wake up in the morning, my hair isn’t very tangly which makes brushing it more of an enjoyable experience, especially since I have a tender head.
Silk has also been said to limit face wrinkles. Since silk is soft with very little friction on the surface, skin tends to lay more flat against the pillow rather than getting stuck on the grain of the fabric. So, if you are a side sleeper, a silk pillowcase should definitely be added to your bed!
If you have dry hair, a silk pillowcase might be a wonderful option for you. Silk absorbs less moisture than traditional cotton fabric. When you sleep on silk, more of the moisture that your scalp produces as hydration stays on your hair rather than seeping into the pillowcase.

And for the final (and my most favorite) reason why you should use a silk pillowcase is because it just feels really nice. One of my most favorite parts of the day is climbing into bed and laying my head on a cool pillowcase. It just feels so nice! And the best part you may ask? The silk stays cool! So throughout the night, my face doesn’t feel smothered or overheat.
I would recommend a silk pillowcase to anyone and everyone! They are so beneficial and are a simple little luxury. With the world as crazy as it is these days, we have to do the things that make us happy and let me tell you, a silk pillowcase makes me so happy!
