2021 was an interesting year. From continuing to live through a pandemic, to a new job, to moving into a new home and the loss of one of my dearest friends. There have been many ups and downs this year but through it all, the good and the bad, this year has been filled with beauty and love. 2021 has shown me what true friendship and love looks like and how important it is to be a good friend, sister, and daughter.
I did make some wonderful discoveries in 2021 and I am excited to share them with you!
Napdress

Oh my goodness… the napdress. I am the most in love! When I discovered these dresses almost a year ago, I had no idea that they would occupy as much of my closet as they do. I am very, very ashamed of the number of Ellie Napdresses that I own. So much so I can’t admit the number! These dresses look so beautiful on all different body shapes and sizes and the prints are just beautiful. There will be a new set of dresses added to the Hill House collection in early February if you are interested! 10/10 would recommend for summer months.
Needlepoint

I started needlepointing this year and it has been one of the greatest pastimes that I have ever discovered. The selection of canvases, the finishings, and the simplicity of basic stitches makes this hobby so relaxing, colorful, and easy to learn. I have already managed to teach a couple of my friends and we needlepoint while watching The Bachelor. This year, one of my goals is to start a stitch club in Oklahoma City so, if you are interested in joining, please let me know!
Ratatouille Ride

The new Ratatouille ride at Epcot is so charming! With the addition of a new parisian street scene, this new ride is quintessential, classic, dreamy Disney at it’s finest. The ride is a copy of the original at Disneyland Paris which mixes more French into the dialogue than a typical ride. They brought this same feature to the ride in Florida which I find dazzling. I love listening to french… If you get the chance, you must ride this!
Friendship

I have always known the importance of my family but this year, I really learned the importance of friendship. Since I graduated college, I have really gone downhill in committing time to talk to and spend time with my friends. I have realized that it is so important to nurture the friendships that we have. You never know when someone might leave your life. It is important to learn as much as you can from your friends, laugh as many times as you possibly can with them, and be as loyal as you can be. Friends are the people that you will walk with through life. You will share some of the greatest highs and the greatest lows with them. Enjoy the time with friends and nurture the relationship so that it can continue to blossom.
This year was a year of growth and change. While some moments were very painful, other moments were filled with beauty. I feel lucky to have walked another year on this earth and I am looking forward to seeing what this next year will bring.
