Lycette

Over the weekend, I had the pleasure of taking a 2 ½ hour drive to West Palm Beach to visit the most adorable needlepoint shop, Lycette.  With it’s charming front window display and pretty light pink walls, this is surely a needlepointers dream! 

When you enter the sweet brick building covered in ivy, you are immediately greeted by a cheery shade of pink on the walls, a beautiful blue and white vase with flowers, and baskets and tables full of needlepoint canvases.  Everywhere you look there is something beautiful!  There is pretty much every kind of canvas available to you in this shop.  From belts, to Christmas stockings, to coasters and ornaments.  And if you don’t see what you are looking for, the employees and owners are more than happy to assist you in finding your perfect next project!

Across the room are the sweetest colorful sofas adorned in cheerful needlepoint pillows.  Between the sofas, a cute white coffee table covered in more canvases and needleminders.  There is also a large bookcase showcasing different kinds of finished needlepoint projects including shoes, picture frames, and ornaments.  

On the back walls of the shop are fibers.  Oh my goodness, the fibers!!!  So many colors and different types of fibers to choose from.  Those working in the shop are glad to help you select  the perfect fibers for any given project.  I found this to be one of the best parts of actually visiting the shop, I got to help select my fiber colors!  

If you are a needlepoint enthusiast and ever happen to find yourself in Florida, I cannot recommend visiting Lycette enough.  From the friendly faces to the adorable canvases, it is a wonderful small business to support.  I may have walked out with a canvas too many but I absolutely love what I purchased and I can’t wait to return to the shop again soon.
