Family, Friends, Life, and Such

It’s been a bit since I have posted so I figured I would write a little bit of an update! 

Easter

A couple of weeks ago was Easter and I had the most wonderful day with family and friends.  We started the day with church and then my mom and dad made the most amazing late lunch.  We had everything from ham, to chicken salad, to mashed cheesy potatoes and halibut.  It was a beautiful day filled with some of my most favorite people.  I am so lucky to have such an amazing community!

House

I am very fortunate that my parents are allowing my sister and I to move into our own spaces.  However, with that comes house hunting.  Let me just tell you, now is not the time for this!  Houses are not really coming onto the market as quickly as they were a few months ago and not only that, but it is also still a sellers market which is leading to high prices and mediocre quality.  But, in all of this craziness, it is fun to start dreaming of what I want to do in terms of design and aesthetics.  I have already been sifting through wallpaper, drapes, paint colors, furniture and everything in between.  I am really wanting to style my home with fun, classic pieces.  Things that will hopefully be transitional at my taste and lifestyle continues to evolve! 

Weekend

This weekend I traveled to Texas to see 2 of my really good friends from college. It was so nice to have a girls weekend with some of my favorite people! It’s been a rough transition for us since November so having a fun trip, and seeing each other without any stress is going to be a blast. We spent tour days seeing the Alamo, eating good food, and most importantly, scoping out the best ice cream!

School

I officially walk on May 7th!  WHAT?!  It’s been a long road but I am excited to be walking and officially finishing up my journey getting my MBA.  I am not a fan of the idea of walking again, I did it after undergrad, once was good!  But my mother is set on it.  So, I guess we will see who wins out on that one.  

Pictures

For some reason I have become obsessed with printing and framing pictures around my house.   I absolutely love them… It brings me such joy to walk into a room and see my people!  The pictures bring a smile to my face and they are honestly something that I didn’t know I needed until I had them.  

Spring and Summer and Coastal Grandmother

Warmer weather is upon us!  I am so ready for a napdress summer and lots of fun sun hats.  Winter felt like it lasted an eternity this year and I am ready to embrace the warmer weather.  

Have you heard of “coastal grandmother”?  The idea is sweeping Tik Tok.  The essence is a Nancy Myers loving, sunhat wearing, sipping a spritz by the sea, kind of essence and let me tell you, I along with millions of other people,  am obsessed.  I plan on carrying this mindset into the summer and embracing it to the absolute fullest.  Go big or go home, right? 

Fresh Flowers

With the entrance of spring comes beautiful blooms. I have enjoyed getting new flowers for the last couple of weeks and I must say, they just make my day a little brighter and happier. I purchased lilacs for the first time last week and I absolutely love them. The smell is absolutely divine and the green contrasting stems contrasting with the purple-ish blue flowers is just stunning. I’m in love!

With the spring comes the opportunity for new blooms and new perspectives. It’s time to shed all of the excess layers and start living more lightly. It’s my most favorite time of the year and I find beauty in all of the new. I hope that you can find new and beautiful things in the world around you!
