House Hunting

I am in a really fortunate position of being able to purchase a home! This is really the first opportunity I have to chose something that is perfectly me. I am wanting a home that is long-term, something that I love and can always come back to, even if I move away for a little while. However, as pretty much everyone knows, it is a sellers market right now. I have gone through so much heartbreak and emotional ups and downs, all while my poor parents are trying to support me.

My Journey to Clearer Skin

My skin has always been something that I have struggled with.  When I was in 8th grade, my mom started to teach me the importance of skincare, washing my face, taking off my makeup, a simple routine.  However, at the same time, I started wearing makeup… I was sleeping in my makeup most nights which, looking back, seems miserable!  I have no idea how I put up with it.  Around this time, I started my period and my hormones were in influx.  A lot was changing and so was my skin.  It wasn’t bad but I would have the occasional pimple.  It was no big deal!  But then things started going downhill for my skin.

My Favorite Coats

typically chose coats that are neutral in color, so I can wear them with anything, but with a fun and flirty silhouette.  I opt for coats in varying materials, lengths and styles so that I can use them to accessorize and dress up any outfit.  I love a good wool coat and I love a nice puffer, not like a crazy puffy coat but a nice short one with a quilted pattern.

Men’s Winter Wear

One of my gentleman friends asked if I would be able to put together some basics for men in the winter.  Naturally, I was thrilled at the notion of creating some basic and versatile looks for men in the winter months.  My goal in shopping for winter is to keep things fairly basic. The cold months are challenging because you have to layer so much, especially in Oklahoma where the weather fluctuates so much. So with that, I try to select neutral colors that can be paired with a majority of my closet so I can create a myriad of outfits without too much of a struggle.

Valentine’s Day Inspiration

With Valentine’s Day quickly approaching, I find myself loving red and pink shirts and dresses and cute festive socks.  While Valentine’s Day isn’t a holiday that I have ever really loved, it is a holiday that I have always thought of fondly.  When I was a little girl, my mom would make my sister and I a Valentine’s Day breakfast, complete with heart shaped ice cubes.  And then of course there were the class parties which was basically a big candy and cookie fest.

My Favorite Jeans

Growing up I loathed wearing jeans.  I thought that they were so prickly and just the most uncomfortable garment to be created.  I boycotted them so strongly that everyday of the 4th grade I would wear sweats to school, both comfortable and functional!  Needless to say, the boys were not chasing after me.  When I hit junior highschool I discovered Abercrombie, Hollister, and 7 for All Mankind jeans.  This was when the game started to change for me.  I found jeans that were soft and felt like I was wearing leggings, I was hooked.  Since then, my jean wardrobe has grown quite a bit and I have found brands that are comfortable, durable, and fairly practical.

Barbour

I recently added this classic Barbour jacket to my wardrobe and I really couldn’t love it more.  The jacket has a very european flair which I love wearing at home in Oklahoma, especially right now with the lack of traveling.  A girl can pretend she is on an adventure, right?!  The particular jacket that I … Continue reading Barbour
