With Covid taking over the last 2 years, I am currently, majorly lusting for a big journey to somewhere far away.  From Paris to Fiji to Africa to India… I am longing to experience a new culture and something different from my seemingly mundane daily schedule.  Don’t get me wrong, I am very grateful for my life and all of the blessings that come from it.  But the thought of just sneaking away from the daily hustle and bustle is calling my name.

  Paris

Oh Paris… one of the most magical places on earth.  The art, the tree lined streets, the language.  While Paris may not be everyone’s cup of tea, it is certainly one of mine!  My sister and I had actually planned to go for the New Year but with the covid spikes, it seemed safer to make other arrangements.  What was the plan you may ask?

We were planning to arrive the day after Christmas, December 26th.  We were planning on meeting one of our friends from college who is studying abroad this year in Ireland.  In exploring hotels, we were leaning towards The Ritz.  I know… soooo expensive.  But there is just something that kept bringing me back to it.  My top goal while we were there would have been the Louvre and Musée de l’Orangerie.  I am just dying to get myself into a fancy museum!  Not going to lie, I was mostly looking forward to wearing cute festive dresses and just walking down the streets.  I have also realized that as I have gotten older, I am less afraid to adventure out by myself.  So the thought of sitting alone in a cafe reading alone just speaks to my soul…

Fiji

Oh my gosh.  The water.  Also, the idea of sleeping in a hut over the water seems fun to me!  Honestly, I have never been to Fiji and I have no idea if I would like it but the pictures I have seen looks absolutely beautiful.  I really like the look of the Fiji Marriott Resort on Momi Bay.  It seems clean and bright which I am very keen on!

Africa

I have come to the conclusion that when I get married (jokes on me because I am not dating anyone), I will be honeymooning in Africa.  The thought of floating in a pool while looking out on the Serengeti just seems like an unforgettable experience.  I also want to meet a monkey… like one of the small ones that you see in movies.  I guess I am crazy for wanting to travel thousands of miles to meet a monkey but what can I say, I am okay with being crazy.  I would love to stay at the Four Seasons Safari Lodge.  They have an infinity pool overlooking the savannah and you can see zebras and giraffes and elephants.  I can only imagine how awe inspiring that would be!

India

I have been wanting to travel to India for some years now.  I really have no desire to travel anywhere else in Asia but India just seems like such an adventure to me.  First of all, I love Indian food.  Like so much.. Like eat it multiple times a week so much.  I imagine that the authentic food would be different but I would love to try it.  India is also known for being so colorful.  They have colorful festivals every year and the clothing is so rich and colorful as well.  I would also love the opportunity to visit the Taj Mahal.  The Oberoi Amarvilas looks absolutely gorgeous and has the most spectacular view of the Taj Mahal.

While I may not be traveling to anywhere this grand this year, it is fun to keep dreaming of where we will be able to go in the future.  So for now, I’ll just keep on exploring and planning for my future adventures!

  1. Wonderful idea Edyn… explore our passions… some times our words can express feelings vicariously on behalf of others
