Guys!  We did it!  January is finally coming to a close.  I, like many others, find January to be a particularly gloomy and depressing month.  The holidays are over, there really isn’t anything to look forward to, and the weather tends to be dreary.  But here we are, moving into the month of February, the month of love.  I must admit, I am very excited to be turning a new page and moving into a brighter, more happy month.  In the upcoming week, I am setting myself some goals in hopes to keep myself motivated and engaged.

Wash My Bedding

I stink at washing my bedding.  Like I am truly so awful at remembering to do it.  But every time I actually get around to changing out the sheets and washing my duvet, I always feel like I am wrapped in the most perfect, clean cloud.  With the start of a new month, I thought it would be the perfect time to get my bed straightened out and cleaned.

Exercise

I am really hit or miss on the workout train but this week, I am going to commit to one workout class.  I am a bit of an oddball and I really love a good high intensity dance class.  I discovered this group on Youtube and the classes are so fun!  If you are looking for a good, lowkey, fun way to workout, this might be a good option for you.

Cooking at Home

This week, I want to try to cook at least 2 dinners at home.  I love cooking, it makes me feel so good, but I find many times that I am too tired by the end of the day to even think about turning on the stove.  DoorDash is just so easy!  I really need to break the habit of having someone deliver my food.  It isn’t very healthy and I really need to do a better job of viewing it as a treat rather than a normal occurrence.

Early Morning Quiet Time

One thing that I really love is a slow morning.  I love being able to wake up, read a couple of articles, make my coffee and not feel rushed.  Since Christmas, I have not been very good about getting up early.  I find myself waking up late and rushing around to get my morning started.  This week, I want to take a step to getting my slow mornings back.  I am going to start off small and realistic so that I can achieve my goal.  I am going to start with 15 minutes earlier than I have been waking up and I am only going to give myself one push of the snooze button.  I have found it helpful to set my alarm 10 minutes before I want to get up knowing full well that I will push the snooze button at least one time!

Less Time in front of a Screen and More Time Thinking Creatively

For the last couple of weeks, my evenings have been filled with Modern Family marathons.  Don’t get me wrong, I love a good binge.  But it is becoming more habitual for me and I am really wanting to change that.  Over the weekend I learned how to sew on a sewing machine that I got for my birthday.  I also started a new needlepoint canvas!   I’m hoping to spend my free time this week stretching my creative brain rather than spending my time on screens.

It’s going to be a good week friends and I am excited to get it started!  If you have any goals that you are setting this week let me know and we can hold each other accountable!
